Contradictions: Tisserand and Young indicate that there is a low risk of skin sensitization when using Tea Tree topically. They recommend a dermal maximum of 15% and precaution to avoid the use of the oil if it has oxidized.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists do not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy.
